Bruton, John Gerard
1947 - Born on May 18th in Dublin, Ireland. Irish politician.
1965-1969 - He joined the Fine Gael party, and he was elected to the Dáil (lower house of Parliament) for Meath, where he farmed.
1970 - Bruton was educated at Clongowes Wood College and then studied economics at University College and law at King's Inns in Dublin, qualifying as a barrister.
1981-1982 - He became the Finance Minister and Industry and Energy Minster of Ireland.
1983 - He was the Trade, Commerce and Tourism Minister of Ireland.
1986-1987 - He became the Finance Minister and Public Service Minister of Ireland.
1994-1997 - He was the prime minister (taoiseach) of Ireland.
2004 - He is the European Union ambassador to U.S.
