Brown, Paul Eugene
1908 - Born on September 7th in Norwalk, Ohio. An American football coach and administrator.
1930 - He graduated from Miami University B.A. in Education.
- He was Severn Prep High School's head coach for a year.
1932 - He became Massillon High School's head coach.
1940 - He graduated from Ohio State University M.A. in Education.
1941-1943 - He was Ohio State University's (WC) head coach.
1944-1945 - The Great Lakes Naval teams' head coach.
1946 - Brown was asked to coach the AFC's Cleveland franchise. Fans elected to name the team after him---the Cleveland Browns.
1950 - The Cleveland Browns joined the NFL. They won the championship that year and went on to dominate the decade of the fifties.
1967 - Art Modell fired Brown.
- Brown left football for five years and was elected into the Professional Football Hall of Fame.
1968 - He was Cincinnati Bengals' head coach and founder.
1973 - He married Mary Rightsell. They had a son named, Mike Browns.
1991 - He died on August 5th in Cincinnati, Ohio due to pneumonia. His remains were buried on Rose Hill Cemetery, Massillon, Ohio.
