1947 – He became professor at Purdue University.

1949 – He joined Alpha Chi Sigma at Purdue University.

1979 – He won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work with organoboranes.

2004 – He died on the 19th of December because of heart attack at a hospital in Lafayette, Indiana.
