1845 – He was born in Denmark, Morrow County, Ohio on the 17th of September.

1861 – Brice dropped out of Miami University in to join the Union Army.

1863 – He returned to Miami and earned his degree.

         – Brice studied law at the University of Michigan and entered the railroad business where he made his fortune.

1879 – He became president of the Lake Erie & Western Railroad and built the Nickel Plate Road.

1889 – He served as the chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

1890 – Brice was elected to the Senate.

1896 – He served a single term and was not a candidate for re-election.

1898 – He died on the 15th of December.
