1936 - Bishop Vincent DePaul Breen was born in Brooklyn, New York. American clergyman.
1962 - Ordained as a priest in the Basilica of the Twelve Apostles, Rome.
1963 - He was a graduate from North American College, Gregorian University, Rome, with a licentiate in sacred theology.
1978 - Became the Superintendent of Education for the Diocese of Brooklyn.
1997 - Vincent de Paul Breen was ordained as a bishop on September 8th, and then installed as the third Bishop of the Roman Catholic diocese of Metuchen, with 500,000 parishioners in Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren counties.
2001 - Due to failing health Bishop Breen retired in September and Bishop John M. Smith was appointed Apostolic Administrator of our diocese.
2003 - He died from Alzheimer's disease on March 30th.
