1729 - By observing seasonal elliptical motion of apparent position of gamma Draconis, discovered astronomical aberration of light.
1727-1747 - By observing that apparent stellar positions slightly vary with same periodicity as lunar nodes, he discovered nutation of Earth (oscillation of Earth's axis, due to changing direction of Moon's gravitational attraction acting on Earth's equatorial bulge)
