1867 - Born on April 14th in La Haye-Descartes, France. French novelist.

         - He studied at Sciences-Po and Ecole du Louvre.

1870 - He was noted for his social histories set in the Touraine region of west-central France.

1908 - He also wrote short stories and lighter novels, such as La Leçon d'amour dans un parc, Le Bel Avenir, and Mon Amour.

1912 - His novels include Mademoiselle Cloque, La Becquée, L'Enfant à la balustrade, and La Jeune Fille bien élevée.

1919 - Boylesve was elected to the Académie Française.

1926 - His last novel, Souvenirs du jardin détruit, turns nostalgically to the house that his rich marriage enabled him to acquire.

         - Died on January 14th in Paris.
