1945 – He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Army Air Corps from this year until 1947.
1951 – He subsequently served as a U.S. Air Force officer from July 8, of this year until August 31, 1975.
1997 – He died of cancer in Florida on March 9 of this year at age 70. He was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery on March 20, 1997.
