1802 - He was born on the 6th of December in Turin, Piedmont Italy.

         - He was educated as a physician.

1843 - He was French consul and archaeologist whose momentous discovery of the palace of the Assyrian king Sargon II at Dur Sharrukin (modern Khorsabad), Iraq, initiated the large-scale field archaeology of ancient Mesopotamia.

1870 - He died on the 29th of March in Achères, France.
