1940 - George Stephen Boolos was born on the 4th of September in New York City. Professor of Linguistics and Philosophy.
1961 - Graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in mathematics.
1963 - Oxford University awarded him the B. Phil.
1966 - Served as first recipient of Ph.D. in philosophy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
- He taught at Columbia University for three years before returning to Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
1969 - Became professor of philosophy at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
1974 - Co-wrote "Computability and Logic".
1979 - Wrote "The Unprovability of Consistency" and "The Logic of Provability".
1993 - He qualified for the London Regional Final of the London Times crossword puzzle competition, where he scored one of the highest scores ever achieved by an American.
1995 - President of Association for Symbolic Knowledge.
1996 - Boolos was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship to complete a book on Frege, and he had been recently appointed Rockefeller Professor of Philosophy at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
- He died on 27th of May at his home in Cambridge at the age of 55. The death was the result of pancreatic cancer.
