680? – Saint Boniface was born at Crediton, Devon. He was a missionary who propagated Christianity in the Frankish Empire during the 8th century.


Received his theological training in the Benedictine monasteries of Adescancastre.


702 – At the age of 30 he became a priest. He wrote the first Latin grammar produced in England.


723 – He felled the holy oak tree dedicated to Thor.


He established the first bishopric in Germany.


737-738 – Visited to Rome, he was made papal legate for Germany.


745 – He was granted Mainz as metropolitan see.


754 – On 5th of June he was killed by mob in Frisia.


He is the patron saint of Germany and the Netherlands.
