Bond, Shadrack (Shadrach)
1773 - Born on November 24th in Frederick, Maryland. American delegate from Illinois Territory.
1794 - Received a common-school education; moved to Kaskaskia, Ill. (then Indiana Territory).
1805-1808 - Engaged in agricultural pursuits; member of the legislative council of Indiana Territory.
1812 - Elected a Delegate on October 10th when Illinois Territory was formed.
1814 - Served as receiver of public moneys in the general land office at Kaskaskia, Illinois.
1818 - When Illinois was admitted as a State into the Union Bond was elected its first Governor.
- During his term the State Capitol was moved from Kaskaskia to Vandalia and a banking system was established.
1823 - Appointed register of the land office for the district of Kaskaskia on January 28th.
1832 - Died on April 12th in Kaskaskia, Randolph County, Illinois.
