1808 – Bonar was born on the 19th of December in Edinburgh.

 

1843 – He married Jane Catherine Lundie.

 

1848-1873 – Served as the editor for "The Quarterly journal of Prophecy".

 

1853 – Earned the Doctor of Divinity degree at the University of Edinburgh Aberdeen.

 

He entered the Ministry of the Church of Scotland.

 

1859-1879 – Served for the "Christian Treasury".

 

1867 – He was moved to Edinburgh to take over the Chalmers Memorial Church.

 

1869 – Wrote biographies of ministers he had known, including "The Life of the Rev. John Milne of Perth".

 

1883 – Elected Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

 

1889 – Horatius Bonar died on 31st of May.
