1905 – He was born in Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, Italy, on the 18th of January to Salvatore Buonanno and Catarina Bonventre.

1906 – His family moved to United States and settled in Brooklyn.

1921 – He enrolled in a nautical college in Palermo.

1931 – At the age of 26, he became the youngest ever bosses of Bonanno crime family.

         – He married to Fay Labruzzo and had three children.

1945 – Joseph became a naturalized citizen of America.

1964 – Bonanno was betrayed by his own enforcer, Mike Zaffarino and allegedly kidnapped by Buffalo Family members, Peter and Antonino Magaddino.

1983 – He co-wrote memoir "A Man of Honor"

         – He was allowed to live in peace in a normal house in Tucson, Arizona with his family.

2002 – Joseph Bonanno died Sunday, on the 12th of May of heart failure at the age of 97.
