1877 – Charles Bolden was born on the 6th of September. US bandleader, cornetist, and jazz musician. He formed 1st jazz band.

1895 – 1907 – He was known as King Bolden and his band was a top draw in New Orleans.

       – He published a scandal sheet called the Cricket.

1907 – He suffered an episode of acute alcoholic psychosis.

       – With the full diagnosis of dementia praecox, he was admitted to a mental institution.

1931 – He died on 4th of November and was buried in an unmarked grave in Holt Cemetery.

1998 – A monument to him was erected in Holt Cemetery.

He formed 1st jazz band.
