1921 - Bokassa was born in Bobangi, a village in Moyen-Congo on the 22nd of February. His father Mgboundoulou, a village chief. Central African Republic dictator, politician, and alleged cannibal.
1965 - With French support, he overthrew David Dacko.
1966-1979 - Military ruler of the Central African Republic as Jean Bedel I of Central African Empire.
1976 - Declared himself as Emperor of the Central African Empire started 4th of December.
1979 - Overthrown by French troops, while on visit to Libya.
1979-1986 - Lived in exile in Ivory Coast.
1986 - Returned to Central African Republic and sentenced to death for assassinations, concealing corpses, and embezzlement.
1986-1996 - Imprisoned until pardoned by Andre Kolingba.
1996 - He died on 3rd of November.
