1921 – Bokassa was born in Bobangi, a village in Moyen-Congo on the 22nd of February. His father Mgboundoulou, a village chief. Central African Republic dictator, politician, and alleged cannibal.

1965 – With French support, he overthrew David Dacko.

1966-1979 – Military ruler of the Central African Republic as Jean Bedel I of Central African Empire.

1976 – Declared himself as Emperor of the Central African Empire started 4th of December.

1979 – Overthrown by French troops, while on visit to Libya.

1979-1986 – Lived in exile in Ivory Coast.

1986 – Returned to Central African Republic and sentenced to death for assassinations, concealing corpses, and embezzlement.

1986-1996 – Imprisoned until pardoned by Andre Kolingba.

1996 – He died on 3rd of November.
