Boisclair, Andre
Canadian Quebecois politician
1966 - André Boisclair was born on the 14th of April in Montreal, Quebec.
1984 - He joined the Parti Québécois.
1989 - On the General election he was elected to represent the Gouin riding as a PQ candidate.
- At 23 years old, he became the youngest member ever elected to the Quebec National Assembly.
1996-2003 - Served as Citizenship and Immigration Minister and Social Solidarity Minister.
1998-2003 - He served as a cabinet minister, under PQ Premiers Lucien Bouchard and Bernard Landry.
2004 - Resigned in August to attend the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
2005 - On 15th of November he won the Parti Québécois leadership election. (1st openly homosexual leader of any major political party in North America)
