1928 – Born in New Haven, Connecticut on the 23rd of November and raised in Flushing, New York. US songwriter and writer of musicals.

        – He attended the University of Wisconsin, where he wrote the musical Big As Life.

1955 – His Broadway debut when he contributed songs to catch a Star.

1956 – He worked on Ziegfeld Follies, which closed out-of-town.

       – Bock met lyricist Sheldon Harnick, with whom he forged a successful partnership.

1959 – Hired to compose musical biography of former New York City Mayor LaGuardia.

1959-1964 – Co-wrote musicals "Fiorello!" (Pulitzer Prize for drama), "The Fiddler on the Roof".

1997 – Established the Jerry Bock Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre.
