Born in Lawrence, Kansas, grew up in Kansas City, Kansas
1975 Degree from University of Miami. Rapidly became an accomplished alto man.
1977 - 1981 Played with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.
Has released numerous recordings as a leader.
Currently professor of Jazz Studies at the University of Missouri, Kansas City
