1970 - Received a B.A. degree in history from the University at Buffalo.
1972 - Finished M.A. degree in international relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
1985 - Wrote collection "Between Washington and Jerusalem: A Reporter's Notebook".
1989 - He authored the nonfiction "Territory of Lies: The Exclusive Story of Jonathan Jay Pollard, the American Who Spied on His Country for Israel and How He Was Betrayed".
1990 - Moved to CNN and worked as the cable network's military affairs reporter.
1992-1999 - Became CNN's White House correspondent.
1995 - Hosted Wolf Blitzer Reports, which was replaced by The Situation Room.
