1832 - Born this year. He was the first person killed in a motor vehicle accident in the United States.

1899 - Bliss dismounted from a streetcar and was struck and knocked unconscious by an automobile on the evening of 13th of September.

       - He died on morning 14th September from his injuries.

      - Taxicab driver was arrested and charged with manslaughter but was acquitted on the grounds that it was unintentional.

1999 - A plaque was dedicated at the site on 13th of September, to commemorate this event.
