1832 – Born this year. He was the first person killed in a motor vehicle accident in the United States.

1899 – Bliss dismounted from a streetcar and was struck and knocked unconscious by an automobile on the evening of 13th of September.

       – He died on morning 14th September from his injuries.

      – Taxicab driver was arrested and charged with manslaughter but was acquitted on the grounds that it was unintentional.

1999 – A plaque was dedicated at the site on 13th of September, to commemorate this event.
