
1840 – Born in Limerick, Ireland on 8th of January, the son of Peter Blake, a county Inspector of Irish Constabulary.
1859 – Joined the Irish Constabulary.
1876 – Worked as an inspector and Resident Magistrate of Duff.
1882 – He was raised to the position of Special Resident Magistrate.
1884-1887 – Served as the Governor of Bahamas.
1887-1889 – Transferred to Newfoundland, where he served as Governor.
1886 – Blake was appointed to Queensland, but resigned without entering the administration.
– He was made governor of the Bahamas, and was transferred to Newfoundland.
– He was knighted the same year.
1889 – Became the Captain-General and Governor-in-Chief of Jamaica.
1894-1896 – His term was extended as Captain-General and Governor-in-Chief of Jamaica.
1898-1903 – Appointed Governor of Hong Kong.
1903 – He left Hong Kong after he attended the inauguration of the Supreme Court building.
1910 – Became chairman of the newly formed Newfoundland Oilfields Limited.
1918 – Blake died on 23rd of February.
