1979 - Obtained his bachelor's degree at Northwestern University in suburban Evanston.

1983 - Finished his doctorate of jurisprudence from Pepperdine University Law School.

1986-1988 - Served as Illinois State Official Cook County Assistant State's Attorney.

1993-1996 - Became the Illinois State House of Representatives.

1997-2003 - Served as Representative from Illinois.

2002 - Blagojevich ran for his party's nomination to become governor.

2003 - Served as Governor of Illinois.

2005-2006 - He served as Federal Liaison for the Democratic Governors Association.

2007 - Blagojevich proposed a $7.6 billion dollar tax increase, with proceeds earmarked to provide universal healthcare in Illinois.
