Blackwell, J. Kenneth (Ken)
1948 - Born on the 28th of February in Cincinnati, Ohio to George and Dana Blackwell.
Attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio on a football scholarship.
1970 - Received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Xavier.
1971 - Took up Master of Education degree from Xavier.
1974-1991 - Served as Professor in Xavier and also served as a trustee of Wilberforce University and Wilmington College.
1979-1980 - Blackwell served as Mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio.
1890-1990 - Served as undersecretary in the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
1992-1993 - President Bush appointed Blackwell ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Commission.
1994 - Appointed Ohio State Treasurer by then-Gov. George Voinovich.
1995-1999 - Treasurer of Ohio (1st black elected to state-wide office in Ohio).
1999 - Elected Ohio Secretary of State.
2002 - Re-elected secretary of state.
2006 - Candidate for Republican nomination for Ohio Governor.
