Blacklock, Thomas

1721 – Born on the 10th of November in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.


1733 – He began to write poetry at the age of 12.


Appointed Minister of Kirkcudbright, but was objected to by the parishioners on account of his blindness.


1750s – Sponsored by the empiricist philosopher David Hume.


1767 – He was made D.D. from the University of Aberdeen (Marischal College).


1791 – Thomas Blacklock died on 7th of July in Edinburgh.
