Black Elk (Hehaka Sapa, Ekhaka Sapa)

1863 - Black Elk was born in December is a Oglala Sioux shaman.

1876 - He participated in the Battle of Little Big Horn.

1890 - Wounded in the massacre that occurred at Wounded Knee.

1887 - Traveled to England with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show.

1892 - Black Elk married his first wife, Katie War Bonnett.

1932 - Collaborated with John Neihardt to produce oral history "Black Elk Speaks: The Life Story of a Holy Man of the Oglala Sioux".
