1838 – Georges Bizet was born on the 25th of October in Paris, France.

1848 – He entered the Paris Conservatory of Music a fortnight before his 10th birthday.

1855 – The Symphony in C Major was written there when he was 17.

1857 – One-act operetta "Le docteur Miracle" won him a share in a prize offered by Jacques Offenbach.

         – He won the Music Composition scholorship of the Prix de Rome.

1963 – He composed the opera "Les pêcheurs de perles" (The Pearl Fishers) for the Theatre-Lyrique.

         – He wrote the opera La jolie fille de Perth, the popular L’arlésienne and Jeux d’enfants (Children’s games) for the piano.

1875 – He composed a romantic opera, Djamileh.

         – He composed opera "The Fair Maid of Perth", "Carmen".

         – He died on the 3rd of June.
