1926 – Born on the 1st of September in Shaistabad of Barisal District, Southern Bangladesh.

         – Finished BA & MA degree in History as well as LLB from the University of Dhaka.

1958 – For his contribution to cooperative movement and various socio-economic activities he got formal recognition by the government as a ‘veteram social worker’.

1962 – Biswas was elected member of the East Pakistan Legislative Assembly.

1965 – He worked as Parliamentary Secretary of East Pakistan.

1967 – Abdur Rahman Biswas participated in the 22nd session of the UN General Assembly.

1974 – He was elected President of the Barisal Bar Association.

1977 – He was also elected Chairman of Barisal Municipality.

1979 – Was elected member of Parliament.

         – He served as jute minister with President ziaur rahman and as health minister with President justice abdus sattar.

1991 – Abdur Rahman Biswas was elected member of parliament in February.

         – Served as President of Bangladesh.

         – While he was President during the period of the caretaker government of Bangladesh, there was a serious army unrest, which he firmly dealt with.

1996 – Biswas completed his full term as president on 8th of October.
