       – Practiced law in Chicago and was graduated from the DePaul University College of Law.

       – Served as an Alderman in the Chicago City Council.

1976-1977 – Became the acting mayor of Chicago.

1977-1979 – Served as the mayor of Chicago, Illinois for the Democratic Party.

1977 – Married to Chicago socialite Heather Morgan by Chicago Archbishop John Cardinal Cody.

1984 – Following his term as mayor, he was elected to the Illinois Appellate Court.

1990-2000 – Elected to the Illinois Supreme Court.

1994-1996 – He was the Illinois Chief Justice.

2002 – Bilandic died on 16th of January and was buried in St. Mary Cemetery.
