Bich, Marcel Baron(Marcel)
1914 - Marcel Bich was born in Turin, Italy on the 14th of July.
1945 - Marcel Bich and his friend, Edouard Buffard, raised $1,000 and bought an empty factory shell in the rundown Paris suburb of Clichy, acquired near Paris, France, and soon developed a thriving business, producing parts for fountain pens and mechanical lead pencils.
1950 - He purchased the patent for the ballpoint pen from Hungarian László Bíró.
1953 - He Co-founder and eponym of Societe Bic also Bic Co. the world's leading producer of ballpoint pens.
1970 - He spent $3 million and worked fourteen hours a day preparing for the event, only to lose ignominiously when his sloop France got lost in the fog off Newport.
1994 - Marcel Bich died on the 30th of May.
