1953 – She was born on the 29th day of June this year in Karachi.

 

1969 – She passed her O-level examinations at the age of 15. In April of this year, she was admitted to Harvard University’s Radcliffe College.

 

1973 – She attended Lady Margaret Hall Oxford University this year and graduated with a BA degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.

 

1984 – She was under house arrest. She was allowed this year to go back to the UK, she became leader in exile of the Pakistan Peoples Party.

 

1987 – She married in December of this year to Asif Ali Zardari and they have three children.

 

1988 – In the first open election in more than a decade, Her PPP won the single largest bloc of seats in the National Assembly. She had sworn as Prime Minister of a coalition government on the 2nd of December this year.

 

1993 – She was re-elected in 1993 but was dismissed three years later amid various corruption scandals by then president Farooq Leghari.

 

2004 – She is currently based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where she cares for her children and her mother, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

 

2006 – At the request of the Pakistani government, Interpol issued a request for her arrest and that of her husband.

 

2007 – She  was invited by the United States government to speak to President Bush, senior Republicans, Democrats as well as the State Department officials on her annual visit to the White House.
