1903 - Bruno Bettelheim was born on the 28th of August.

 

1944 - He become a naturalized citizen of America.

 

         - Became a professor of psychology, teaching at the University of Chicago.

 

1976 - Wrote "The Uses of Enchantment" recast fairy tales in terms of Freudian psychology.

 

         - Awarded the U.S. Critic's Choice Prize for criticism.

 

1977 - The National Book Award in the category of Contemporary Thought.

 

1990 - He suffered from depression and committed suicide on 13th of March.

 

He studied psychological purpose of fairy tales.
