Betancourt, Romulo
1908 - Born on the 22nd of February in Guatire, Miranda state, Venezuela.
1937 - Founded the Partido Democrático Nacional then became a legal party as Acción Democrática (AD).
1945-1948 - By means of a military coup d'état he became President of Venezuela.
1948 - He was forced into exile in New York City.
1959-1964 - Once again he became the President of Venezuela.
1960 - On 24th of June, he survived an assassination attempt ordered by Rafael Trujillo.
1973 - Awarded a lifetime seat in Venezuela's senate.
1981 - He died on 28th of September in Doctors Hospital in New York City.
