1941 - Born on the 3rd of April in Los Angeles, California. American singer and songwriter.
- Jan Berry was one half of the popular 1960s "surf music" singing duo "Jan & Dean", who enjoyed chart success with songs including "Surf City", "Little Old Lady from Pasadena", "Popsicle", "Dead Mans Curve", "Drag City" and "Ride the Wild Surf".
- Studied at University High School, Los Angeles, California.
1963 - They were booked to play several shows with "The Beach Boys", and Berry struck up a friendship with songwriter Brian Wilson.
- As member of duo Jan and Dean, recorded songs "Surf City".
- Graduated from UCLA in pre-medicine.
- Berry and partner Dean Torrence reached the height of their success after releasing their first number one hit song, “Surf City".
1964 - Recorded "The Little Old Lady (From Pasadena)".
1966 - Jan Berry was critically injured in a motor vehicle accident in Los Angeles, when he crashed his Corvette into a parked truck. It left him with brain damage manifested by paralysis and inability to speak.
1981 - Jan and Dean again broke up because of Berry's cocaine abuse.
1991 - Married Gertrude Filip on September 1st.
