1910 - He was born on the 10th of May in Montreal, Canada.

1931 - Bernstein graduated at McGill University.

1935 - He earned his M.D.at McGill University.

         - He studied psychoanalysis under Dr. Paul Federn.

1938-1939 - He completed his training and became an American citizen.

1943 - He changed his legal name to Eric Berne.

1945 - He discharged after working at Bushnell Army Hospital in Ogden, Utah.

         - He resumed his studies under Dr. Erik Erikson at the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute.

1947 - Berne published The Mind in Action.

         - He became a group therapist attached to several hospitals in San Francisco.

1949 - He was rejected for membership in the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute.

1970 - Dr. Berne died on the 15th of July because of a heart attack.
