Bergmann-Pohl, Sabine
1946 - Born on the 20th of April in Eisenach, Germany.
1981 - She joined the CDU Christian Democratic Union (East Germany).
1990 - She became a member of the Volkskammer.
- On 5th of April she became the president of the Volkskammer.
- Appointed as Head of state of East Germany (the first and only woman to hold the post).
1990-1991 - Served as Federal Minister for Special Affairs.
1991-1998 - Served as Under-Secretary of State for Health.
2002 - She retired from the Bundestag in September.
