Austrian composer
1885 - Born on the 9th of February in Vienna, Austria.
1900 - At the age of fifteen, he started to teach himself music.
1904-1911 - He began a six-year period of study with Arnold Schoenberg.
1906 - He focused on his music studies full-time.
1907 - He began composition lessons.
His compositions are five piano sonata drafts and various songs, and Seven Early Songs (Sieben frühe Lieder).
1911 - Berg married Helene Nahowski, singer and daughter of a wealthy family.
1913 - Five Songs on Picture Postcard Texts by Peter Altenberg were premiered in Vienna under Schoenberg's baton.
1915-1918 - Served in the Austrian Army.
1917 - He began work on his first opera, Wozzeck.
1924 - The performance of three excerpts from Wozzeck brought Berg his first public success.
1925 - Composed "Chamber Concerto", opera "Wozzeck".
