Worked as a journalist on several newspapers, including the Daily Telegraph.

 

1905 – Published collection of poetry, titled Biography for Beginners, popularized the clerihew form.

 

1913 – Wrote a novel, Trent’s Last Case.

 

1936 -He wrote a sequel, Trent’s Own Case.

 

1956 – Bentley died 30th of March.
