US administrator and Mormon leader

 

1899 - Born on the 4th of August in Whitney, Idaho.

 

1921-1923 - Served a church mission in Britain.

 

1926 - He was graduated from Brigham Young University.

 

1939 - President of the church's Boise, Idaho stake and working for the University of Idaho Extension Service.

 

Moved to Washington, D.C. to become Executive Secretary of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives.

 

1943 - On the 7th of October he was ordained to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

 

1953-1961 - Appointed U.S. Secretary of Agriculture by President Eisenhower.

 

1985-1994 - Ordained as President and Prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

1994 - Ezra Taft Benson died on 30th of May and was buried in Whitney, Idaho.
