
African American mathematician, astronomer, clockmaker, and publisher
1731 – Born on the 9th of November.
1753 – Made a wooden clock, which ran well for at least twenty years.
1789 – He was able to make the calculations to predict solar and lunar eclipses.
1792-1797 – Published the compile ephemeris for the Benjamin Banneker’s Almanac, which an anti-slavery society.
1791-1797 – The first issue of Banneker’s Almanac was published and it continued to appear annually.
1806 – Benjamin Banneker died on 9th of October in his log cabin.
He became known as the Sable Astronomer.
