1740-1758 – He was elected Pope on 17th of August.

1757 – Benedict XIV was also responsible, along with Cardinal Passionei, for beginning the catalogue of the Vatican Library.

Entrusted the relics of St. Donatus of Libya, a beheaded corpse, to the Third Order Franciscans, in the village of Vila do Conde, Portugal.

1758 – Prospero Lorenzo Lambertini died on 3rd of May in Rome.
