Bell, James Thomas(Cool Papa)
1903 - Born on the 17th of May in Starkville, Mississippi.
1922 - Joined the St. Louis Stars of the Negro National League as a pitcher.
1924 - Became the starting center fielder of the Negro National League.
- Moved to the Detroit Wolves of the East-West League when the Negro National League disbanded.
1938 - Bell left the Crawfords to return to Mexico.
1942 - Returned back to baseball in the United States to play for the Homestead Grays.
1946 - He last played for the semi-pro Detroit Senators.
1974 - He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
1991 - Died on the 7th of March in his home on Dickson Street in St. Louis, Missouri.
1999 - Bell was ranked 66th on The Sporting News list of Baseball's Greatest Players.
- He has been inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame.
