Belanger, Mark Henry
1944 - Born on the 8th of June in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
1962 - He was recruited by the Orioles as an amateur.
1965 - Made his debut with the club on 7th of August.
1967 - He took over as the Orioles' regular shortstop and held the position for over a decade.
1969 - He joined a select group of shortstop-second baseman combinations who each won Gold Gloves in the same season while playing together.
1981 - He was granted free agency, perhaps in response to his public criticism of manager Earl Weaver.
1982 - Signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the season, after which he retired.

1990 - Belanger contracted lung cancer because of his habit of smoking cigarettes.
1999 - Died on the 6th of October in New York City.
