Begin, Menachem Wolfovitch

1913 – Born on the 13th of August in Brest-Litovsk, Poland.

1935 – He finished his Law in the University of Warsaw.

1944 – Leader of Irgun terrorist movement.

1946 – He bombed the King David Hotel on 22nd of July, killing 91 people, mostly civilians.

1948 – He Founded Herut Party.

1970 – He became joint chairman of the Likud coalition.

1977 – Served as Prime Minister of Israel.

1978 – Won the Nobel Peace Prize.

1982 – The Israeli forces invaded Lebanon to clear out PLO strongholds.

1983 – In September, he suddenly resigned, reportedly because of deteriorating health and depression over his wife’s death.

1992 – Died on the 9th of March at Tel Aviv, Israel because of Heart Failure.
