Bednorz, Johannes Georg
1950 - Born on the 16th of May in Neuenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
1968 - He started his studies in Mineralogy at the University of Münster.
1982 - Hired by IBM to work in their Zurich laboratories.
1983 - He and Müller began a systematic study of the electrical properties of ceramics.
1986 - Succeeded in inducing superconductivity in a barium lanthanum copper oxide.
1987 - Nobel Prize in Physics for work in high-temperature superconductivity.
