1852 - Born on the 15th of December in Paris, France.

1972 - He entered the Polytechnic.

1874 - Government department of Pontset-Chaussees.

1877 - Became ingénieur.

1878 - Appointed as an Assistant at the Museum of Natural History.

1894 - Promoted to ingénieur-en-chef.

1888 - Acquired the degree of docteur-ès-sciences.

1889 - Elected a member of the Academie des Sciences de France .

       - Member of the Accademia dei Lincei and of the Royal Academy of Berlin.

1892 - Appointed Professor of Applied Physics in the Department of Natural History at the Paris Museum.

1895 - He became a Professor at the Polytechnic.

1896 - Discovered the phenomenon of natural radioactivity.

1900 - He was made an Officer of the Legion of Honour.

1903 - Nobel Prize in Physics.

       - Discovered radioactive electron emission by uranium.

       - Published his findings in many papers, principally in the Annales de Physique et de Chimie and the Comptes Rendus de l'Academie and the Comptes Rendus de l'Academie des Sciences.

1908 - Died at Le Croisic on 25th of August.
