Beatty, Ned

1937 - Born on the 6th of July in Louisville, Kentucky.

1947 - He began singing in gospel and barbershop quartets in St. Matthews, Kentucky, as well as at his local church. 

1972 - His debut film as rape victim Bobby Trippe in Deliverance.

1976 - Beatty was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Network.

1978 - Appeared as Lex Luthor's henchman Otis in Superman.

         - Member of the cast of the television police drama Homicide: Life on the Street, playing Detective Stanley

Bolander.

         - Played the role as Dan Conner's father on the hit television show Roseanne.

1991 - Starred in the award-winning British film Hear My Song, he portrayed the singer Josef Locke.

         - Nominated for two Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe Award.

         - Spends his summers in Karlstad, Minnesota, his wife's home town. He resides in Springville, California.
 

2006 - Received the RiverRun International Film Festival's "Master of Cinema" award.
