Edward Latimer Beach, Jr. was an American naval submarine officer and author.
1918 – Born 20th of April.
1939 – Graduated from the United States Naval Academy.
Beach served in the USS Trigger, USS Tirante, and commanded the USS Piper.
Served as President Eisenhower’s naval aide.
1955 – Wrote his first novel, Run Silent, Run Deep.
1959 – Beach took command of the USS Triton (SSRN-586).
1962 – Wrote books on naval history, including Submarine!, Around the World Submerged and eepers of the Sea (1983).
1966 – Beach retired from the Navy.
1972 – Wrote two sequels, Dust on the Sea (1972) and Cold is the Sea (1978).
1995 – Scapegoats: A Defense of Kimmel and Short at Pearl Harbor.
2002 – Edward Latimer Beach, Jr. died 1st of December.
Beach Hall, the United States Naval Institute’s home at the Naval Academy, is named in honor of both Captains Beach.
