Elgin Gay Baylor is a US basketball player and coach.
1934 - Born 16th of September in Washington, D.C.
1958 - Baylor led the SU Chieftains to the NCAA championship game.
1959 - Joined the Minneapolis Lakers for the 1958-1959 season.
- NBA rookie of the year.
1960 - Moved to Los Angeles.
1963-1964 - Baylor began to be hampered with knee problems during the 1963-64 season.
1971-1972 - Finally retired nine games because of his nagging knee problems.
1974-1979 - Hired to be an assistant coach and later the head coach for the New Orleans Jazz.
1977 - Elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
1980 - Named to the NBA 35th Anniversary All-Time Team.
1986 - Hired by the Los Angeles Clippers as the team's Vice President of basketball operations.
1996 - Again he was named to the NBA 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
2006 - Selected as the NBA Executive of the Year.
