1962 - Bruce Robert Baumgartner was born 31st of August in Haledon, New Jersey.
1980 - Baumgartner was the Olympic team alternate and was the pioneering National Freestyle champion.
1981 - In Romania, he won the championship at the World University Games.
1982 - Graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Industrial Art Education.
- Awarded with an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship.
1984 - Got his first gold medal in Los Angeles in the Olympic Games, and became a member of the World Team.
1986 - Won the World Championship in Budapest, Hungary.
1987 - Bagged the gold in the Pan-American Games in Indianapolis.
1988 - Second Olympic medal with silver medal at the Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea.

1992 - First American wrestler to ever medal in three consecutive Olympics as he won the gold medal for the second time while competing in Barcelona, Spain.
1994 - Again got the bronze medal in the Goodwill Games in St. Petersburg, Russia.
